At Burger King, I sometimes grab one of those cardboard crowns and put it on. At other restaurants, you may catch me coloring with a children’s activity packet – the ones with puzzles, pictures and a few crayons.
Creativity is good for the soul, no matter your age, which is why I was glad to hear that The Jewish Mother restaurant is bringing back its tradition of coloring on the walls. Read about it on today’s cover.
During summer breaks in my college years, I remember adding my artwork to the restaurant’s decor. I was sad when framed photographs of music acts replaced the community coloring. But hey, it’s back – for now.
